A User's Guide to the Human Body

I obviously need more Magnesium. 🙃
Special request here: can you please make a video on proteins and amino-acids? I would love to learn the difference between all of them, how they are assimilated and their benefits to the human body. Thank you!
Wait, so is the relationship with smaller bodies in children and their breakdown of medication similar to how smaller mammals need to eat less, more calorie dense food (say a mouse vs a gorilla)?
thank you for these tips, infiltrating and studying the human population will be much easier.
Well I went into the craving video and once Chai Latte was mentioned I felt it xD aw with COVID I haven't had a chai latte in a year I miss it.
The study of a llama tree

Is it blood type O or 0 (zero)?
5:36 Missed opportunity for Spongebob "CHOCOLATE!" reference!
Sponsored by Taco Bell
Msyby sleep isn't the cause of depression but a symptom
Where's the trouble shooting section. Mine won't turn on . I tried plugging and unplugging in my penis and no change. Now I'm leaking I think oil? It's kind of sputtering out of me
If we go a few degrees in either direction, we die, why would we have to worry about fungus?
That first clip though didnt really answer the initial question. 'A few degrees above and below 37 and u can die. Why 37?'. He then explains why 37 is optimal BUT sure that says why 37 is preferable but why is it a REQUIREMENT?
Presumably evolution. If all other options are inferior to 37, then the one whose body operates at 37 had greater evolutionary success and thus, is able to pass down their lineage until it becomes impossible to shift from 37. There is evolutionary pressure to shift to 37 and no pressure to shift to anything else.
Take it from me. Take antibiotics first before agreeing to appendectomy, unless you think it's burst. That's what Europeans have changed to, while American doctors are still quick to operate, for money.
Until now, I've just been walking into the same wall for the past 26 years
Meat-Mech
In Russia normal temperature is considered to be 36.6 C was confused to hear 37
Cravings of celery and peanut 🥜butter and celery plus cheese 🧀whiz. And put broken up pretzels along it😋😋👍
Pretty good Meatspace 102 lesson!
4:46 again association doesn't mean causation. obese, sick, depressed individual are more likely to stay in bed more than healthy individuals
Damn... I knew I shouldn't have let them take out my appendix. They told me it was useless anyway. I knew it had to have a purpose.
Taco Bell makes me want to vomit, actually.
some users guide, won't even tell me which muscles must be used in tandem with others to hold a given pose without needing assistance from outside sources. using my outdated spermatezoa guide doesn't help me move around much more than a Magikarp in a puddle...
I can confidently disagree with everything the girl is saying about over sleeping
And the food craving see almost had correct and then he turned it off. Your body is very smart if you listen to the cravings it will tell you what you're missing
Where the he'll was this when I was born!?! I looked everywhere for it!
I usually listen to SciShow as I go through my shutdown process. 🙃
Great video! Love Michael! :)
The first two guys should like they are imitating Hank...
Why is this fat man telling me how to take care of my not-fat body...
I was clickbaited into watching this video. I already know where to go for a crash course in the user's manual, see? in fact I went there and got it already - while still lacking the advanced courses - so I got baited into clicking by wanting to see how the rational sciences' take on compiling a user's guide to the human system might play out. Well, up and down, over and back around - whatever else I might have had to say with this comment, it all essentially just amounts to that the key is in the subjective realm of experience, not in the objective. Turn the cover of the manual by shifting attention inwards. Or "the only way out is in," as renowned Indian mystic and sage Sadhguru puts it. So, considering that, I guess It'll still be some time before the natural sciences catches up to just how deep this particular rabbit hole goes because it doesn't register very well on the kind of yardstick that the natural sciences uses. Other than making conclusions like doing yoga is good for the physical system and doing meditation seems to bring a certain sense of balance to the mind, superfluous stuff like that while metering out the exact difference in the chemical compositions of the test subjects. But I hope it won't be too long, and I actually don't think it will either. Not when thinking seriously about it.
What's up with the puffy black vest? Are you recording outside? Hiding something?
Aww you look so young in the first video 😊
THANK YOU for explaining the different blood group systems in simple terms that can be understood by the average Joe and ACTUALLY GETTING IT RIGHT! As a Transfusion Scientist I get soooooo annoyed with people explaining it wrong. Also thank you for calling it the Rh system not the Rhesus system, it drives us potty when people do that! 🖤❤️
So I went through the users guide, but I'm still having problems with my brain not braining right.. Is it too late for me to send in the warranty card?
@ 7:02 Stress creates a physiological response, not just psychological.
Calling it an appendix is degrading to its functional importance.
I guess I took this quote to thy own self be true to heart
You needed to go on a diet man.
00:48 riiight, hair is the biggest difference :)))
Instructions not clear, arm stuck in zipper.
Instructions unclear, ended up with one ear inside my rectum
Micheal gives the crow meets high science. But I will also say his badass jacket is making me feel hot.
I miss Olivia
olivia!
Usually I hate these "Compilations" because I've already seen the original, but in this one I've missed most of it
lol was this timed to coincide with Bill Bryson's book on the same?
I'm afraid to take use my body. I want to keep it mint in package.
Thank you
I wish I got this manual back at the birth clinic
dude, go on a diet
why does the black hair girl look like a Californian stoner?
The Body: A Guide for Occupants - Bill Bryson. Fun to read as well!
Awe, you see happier and more comfortable in your skin in the short hair years. 😕
The Taco Bell part sounded like it was from personal experience 😂
"I crave a radish" is a sentence that's never been heard.
If I am in need of a blood transfusion, the 0.02% change of rejection, most likely is not the thing with the highest risk of killing me.
I miss Olivia... so sad that she left Sci Show
AB Neg.
too late ! I don't need a user's guide for at least my body the male body. it's taking me several decades but if you want to do one specifically on the woman body ,that's what we need.
"Celery just doesn't have the same effect" They obviously haven't met me, I had such a craving for vegetables, literally vegetables, that I walked out in a snowstorm to buy a salad from the grocery store. But I have rarely if ever actually had a craving for sugary or fatty foods believe it or not. Then again I'm the guy who will eat ahead of broccoli as a mundane snack without anything to dip it in so...
Did you guys forget to pay the heating bill? Why the warm coats during the recordings?
So there is actual DIO blood type to revive Joseph Joestar.
Title miss leading didn't teach me how to walk or operate the body
DUDE LOVE THE HAIR!!!!
Go Go Sci Show!
Here to deny that Taco Bell is delicious.
So do you wanna say that all the time I don't use it correctly?
I enjoyed the video so much. I've been trying to find for a ALfirst vid like yours that breaks down the topics in this ALfirst vid! 🩺 The explanation at 1:16 is my favorite. Your breakdown reminds me of the vids of this insightful medical student Dr Ethan. Doctor's videos are useful and I actually learned a lot for midterms. He is an insightful health enthusiast on ALfirst and he talks about mental health. Go watch his ALfirst out and give Dr Ethan a like! ➡️ #DoctorEthanMedLife
IKNOWI'MNOTSUPPOSEDTOBUT .. WOW!! short hair Michael for the win!
hmmm.. so 7 hours of sleep is that sweet spot..
where is this other video, "a users guide to the human brain" I can't seem to find it
I can't find the troubleshooting and warranty section, I believe this model was meant to last about 80 years but it's only been 26 and it's breaking down.
During my first pregnancy I was told I was 0- and with my first I was told I'm 0+ now is it possible for that to chance or was one of them wrong?
A couple of months ago it was mustard for three days straight until I caved and ate some on my hot dog and tater tots
My appendix was removed when I was 19. I'm 65 now and have had C. Diff 4 times, one nearly killed me. I started taking probiotics 5 years ago and haven't had problems since then.
Scientists: We don't know what the appendix does; therefore, it has no purpose.
Me being 6years an insomniac with almost no sleep for weeks turning into rock who sleeps 12h+ seems legit
Be sure to keep all user documentation handy for future reference!😋😅
Ghrelin is the name of my orc cousin. He likes to eat humans.
So I shouldn't eat mushrooms??
So wait, back when I needed supplemental magnesium and needed to gain back some fat, could I have just eaten tons of chocolate instead? lol
Another compilation... "we stopped coming up with new tidbits and just started recycling them."
Thanks!
I thought I would never gain the confidence to use my human body. Now I use it almost once every day. Thanks guys!
It's not even a quick start guide, it's just a collection of facts related to some of the body's functions :/
Does anyone else wonder who is the writer’s for scishow

I loved this video, Michael is awesome too!!
Due to food scarcity as a child I have an extremely hard time recognizing hunger and cravings, as well as sating them when I do.
Obviously youve never experienced pregnancy, I'm sorry but science can't explain everything yet,, I craved eggs during one of my pregnancies,, (I had never ever liked eggs before and today ~ 6 years later, I can still occasionally eat them,, but before my pregnancy, I HATED eggs, they legit made me vomit) and orange juice w slim jim's isn't good to any one but a pregnant lady ✌️✌️
Also........hormones do affect your mood,, so if your mood is affecting your cravings === it's indirectly pregnancy hormones that cause cravings
*Get a hair cut hippy* !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*I lost my own owners manual*
Why is Michael so cold, can't they afford heat
I know Michael said he had much shorter hair, but I was still a bit shook when he showed up with the short hair
10000100010110110111101010101 Thanks for te-e-lling me how to u-se my bo-o-dy.
7:29 "Celery just doesn't have the same effect" Me: *Looks at the piece of celery I'd been thoroughly enjoying with sudden confusion*
This is good! I wonder how long volume two will take to complete.
That last section about dosing has me SHOOK.
Don't you know that no one reads the instructions
User's guide?
