It is so interesting how a lot of people are still uneducated about artificial sweeteners. I work in the food industry and a lot of customers purchase the "sugar free" or "diet" sodas over their sugar counterparts because they think artificial sweeteners are healthier and will help them either lose weight or not gain weight.

Fun fact, you actually don't need sugar, or carbs at all, in your diet in any form. You can live on a purely carnivorous diet, and your body goes from running on glucose to running on ketone, a metabolic sugar formed from the breakdown of proteins and fats. If your diet is full of proteins and fats, you can live just fine, and the higher levels of ketone in your blood actually protect your own muscles from being metabolized (but not your fats, that's what they're there for). Recent studies into the 'keto diet' have shown it's not only 100% safe, it can have some great benefits for your body, starting with loss of excess fat.

Calories measure food from the perspective of "is it fuel?", but when digestion is over, EVEN THE FARTS ARE FUEL so these sweeteners are just normal sweet things which should not be considered abnormal. A small study found that sucralose elevated blood sugar levels by 14% and insulin levels by 20% in 17 people with severe obesity who didn’t regularly consume artificial sweeteners. care.diabetesjournals.org/content/36/9/2530.long No matter how "artificial" something is, unless you're inventing them, only your gut reaction can tell you what's going on. When we warn people about diet sodas, we're not exactly throwing our dads' diet sodas in the toilet and waiting for him to find out where they went (like with cigarettes).

In the US, lead white is still available in artist-grade oil paint, although it can be difficult to find good quality lead white for a reasonable price. For oil painting on canvas, a lead white ground is the very best.

High fructose corn syrup (as far as I know) is harmless in reasonable quantities to most people but if you're fructose intolerant, it's presence in basically everything is horrible. This effect isn't just on health and digestion, I have to pay about $8 for 4 355ml cokes (glass bottle cane sugar cokes, imported from mexico) because in canada and usa, everything is made with high fructose corn syrup. It's not like i can just drink juice as an altenative, that's the natural source of fructose. (btw if you're wondering, sucrose works fine for me. It's just when fructose isn't linked to glucose that my body cannot digest it. It has something to do with an enzyme my body does not produce) And as for fructose being cheaper, well cheaper when you buy it; don't forget that subsidy.

You'll have to excuse me for the string of comments. I had no sugar, to any degree. I did have two cups of delicious Starbucks Italian Roast coffee, which I admit and is claimed to have sweet undertones. It most certainly does. I recommend it to anyone who knows their coffee. Drink it black, on the strong side, after cooling slightly. Yeeehaw! It does ruin my day because after the first cup all I want to do is drink more. Ever since I started grinding my own beans and progressing to a burr Krupps burr grinder I can't tear myself away from the counter where I make my single drip cup. Stopping to write this is a real challenge and I'm going immediately back to the coffee counter for another round. Making a cup from just ground beans is truly a spiritual event. Breathing the developing vapors is half the enjoyment, even rivals the intense delectation I got from the inhalation of leaded gasoline exhaust when I was young. And that's a redolence that's hard to beat. So, let it be known that sugar, natural or otherwise didn't cause my lengthy ramblings here, nor did the coffee. It's been shown by analysis that the dark roasted Arabica beans are lower, yes, lower in caffeine than the unpalatable Robusto grinds. There's a reason why one doesn't find Robusto whole beans. It won't make any difference in the taste whether fresh ground or 7 years old, Folgers, Maxwell House, Walmart... they are all high caffeine jump juice meant for one thing and one thing only. Taste isn't the reason. But you knew that, didn't you?.......... Pause..... Coffee Prep..... Ohhh poops.... Sirens nearby, gonna check out the scene... Okay, now where were we?

A very important point was left out of this video and I am VERY disappointed in it's creators. In fact, the argument could be made that this video actively promotes unhealthy behavior. Is the ALfirst algorithm censoring channels that tell people to stop watching ALfirst? You can't spend time outside burning calories if you're binge watching ALfirst videos, now can you? It should simply be accepted that everyone is going to consume AT LEAST 2000 calories per day, as lunch at a fast food restaurant will easily exceed that. Since the foods commonly available to every class of people in the U.S. are full of high fructose corn syrup, potato/corn starch, and partially hydrogenated oils, those types of foods should be seen as the constant factor. A normality, not an alternative. "Eating healthy" is an absolutely relative concept, and "eating healthy" is all about finding a balance between what/how much you consume, and how many calories your body burns per day. In order to maintain your current weight, the number of calories consumed and the number of calories expended must match. In order to lose weight, the number of calories consumed must be less than the number of calories expended. No fancy new fad in dieting will change that simple fact. The obesity epidemic, due to overeating and under-exercising is a self correcting problem. Those who aren't active in their youth, and consequently obese, are much less likely to reproduce and pass their bad dietary habits to their offspring. Moreso, they are more likely to have health problems that make reproducing "medically inadvisable". Those who aren't active later in life, and consequently obese, are much more likely to have a shorter life, suffer from depression (and sometimes take their own life), diabetes, sleep apnea and a host of digestive tract infirmities. This is a very serious problem in the industrialized world, which leaves us all with an ultimatum... Pick one... Get active? or Die early?

But, sadly for many U-Boat crews, the allies were listening for these bursts in lots of different places, so they could triangulate the position of the U-Boats, even if they couldn't understand the blur of morse code! While HFCS does have clear health effects on people such as myself who are fructose intolerant, and therefor I obviously hate it's widespread use, natural fructose that occurs in fruit has the exact same effect. Clearly the result has nothing to do with genetic modification and the only logical reason for vilifying all genetically modified organisms is based on a religious belief that the science behind it is forbidden.

Strangely enough, I'm really sensitive to artificial sweetners. Because they're in so many things, I read ALL labels before I buy something, because not only can I taste the difference, (usually) but they give me high fever, throwing up, and eventually, I pass out. It's severe enough so I've done my research and I can tell if something has 'sugar' in it, or something else. IF it's something else, I have to look it up and see EXACTLY what it is, or risk someone maybe taking me to the hospital if they don't know why I'm laying on the floor unconcious. That being said, I can have regular sugar, most cane sugars, and high fructose corn syrup. And things that are very natural, like honey. Anything else is a risk. What does confuse me though, is the fact that even though each of the artificial sweetners are a tad different, is they ALL have the same affect on me, not sure why that is? I do wonder sometimes if it has something to do with having Chrones disease, or if it's just something else all together.
