    I have ADHD... napping is kinda impossible. I'd have to time myself for an hour to actually sleep 30 minutes because I'd have to wind myself down enough to do it. Have yet to see if exactly timing it for 30 minutes is effective but again, winding down enough to nap is tough. May depend on if I had coffee or any caffeine that day.

    Oddly enough, sleeping on my stomach is more comfortable... probably because I'm heavyset, so there's a divot in my mattress where I normally sleep, but I carry my weight in my stomach. Stomach fills the divot, spine is aligned, super comfy XD

    On showers, Cold showers are the biggest life hack I've ever found in that regard. Cold showers wash away less natural skin oils, don't kill your microbiome, and make you feel good after. There's even research that shows taking a cold shower everyday can lower your average heart rate by up to 10 bpm and others have shown that people who regularly bathe or shower in cold water have a higher brown fat content. I also do ice baths which are amazing in their own regard but obviously not for everyone.

    For the part about St. John's Wort, I tried it while I was still on an anti-depressant and it sent me into a very powerful depression, so as they say in the video, consult your doctor first

    Melatonin never did anything for my insomnia but after about a month and a half taking 3mg at night, it did seem to improve my GERD/acid reflux considerably. I was curious if it was just a coincidence but a web search turned up one study done on melatonin used to treat GERD (apparently your digestive system also has melatonin receptors). It was a fairly small sample group and rather preliminary but the results were positive. So there's that I guess.

    Thank you for that confirmation. I'm a non-napper and I'm so tired of people always telling me I should. It does more harm than good to me and wrecks my normal biological clock. Napping has the effect on me like holding a piece of meat in front of a hungry dog, but keeping it just out of reach. Only hours of deep sleep will do when I feel the need to `nap`.

    My sleep schedule is very hard to work with. If I had my way, I would go to bed at 3:00 am and sleep till noon. It's very hard for me to fall asleep early enough to get up in the morning. I often have to force myself awake with ridiculous amounts of caffeine, which has resulted in chronic stomach upset. Because of this pattern, I'm very prone to getting into sleep debt, which I try fix by drinking more coffee. It's just a vicious cycle. Occasionally, I have no choice but to take a stay in bed day to allow myself to rest.The problem is so bad that I got in an accident on my way to work because I had made myself wake up early and didn't give myself enough time to have coffee. I lost my license temporarily because of a suspected sleep disorder and vowed to no longer accept jobs that require me to wake up before my body is ready. Also, I take naps whenever I can, they are my saviour.

    It's interesting that you didn't include Vitamin D, particularly the need for verifying your actual level of it rather than just "supplementing." Those in northern climates, especially with darker skin, average surprisingly low amounts of it, and data over the last year suggests that this could have played a significant role in COVID-19 outcomes. The most recent study on this was done in Spain, currently in _Lancet_ preprint, but another one was recently published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.     There's actually a major issue with the folic acid additives. The major widespread mutation is in the MTHFR gene, responsible for the methylation of folic acid, and should be treated with methyl folate, while folic acid (the stable, cheaper version, i.e. the one actually added in the food industry) clogs up an already malfunctioning mechanism

      No it's not sexist and SchiShow does it not because of trans people but because of a very loud, very angry minority of women and some men (usually gender-studies students who've never worked a day in their lives) who feel like they can speak for anyone they like including black people (as a mixed race woman I've dealt with these people and they are insulting to no end. Much worse than actual racists because at least racists just leave you alone most of the time). They call for cancellations of anything that doesn't fit their tiny world view and if you dare try to go against them you'll be called everything under the sun and absolutely bullied until you quit arguing so they don't have to acknowledge that they may be wrong. I've been accused of having internalized racisism just because I disagreed with a white girl about my non-repression (she wanted so badly for me to have faced racism because of course a black girl in Europe has to have been repressed, right?). As a woman I find the term 'pregnant people' incredibly insulting and so far the only people I see defending this choice are very clearly women (as in born and living as). I'd love to get the opinion of an actual pregnant transitioned person what they think about it but they're always super quiet on these topics, probably for the same reason I don't always argue on topics about racism - they'll turn on the trans people too. They're just plain toxic

    I've slept on my back for... 3.5 years now. No other positions, cause I sleep on a skinny couch. Our young daughter started having massive nightmares and sleeping with us, and she's a kicker. Then I bought my Choco Labrador puppy who decided he would be terrified of stairs, our room, our bed, his kennel, and being downstairs alone. He would destroy everything if left alone. So, I've been his roommate for 3 years, well heck, today lol.

    Part of plants being in medical rooms being helpful might tell the patient that's the staff is capable of keeping it alive so it breathes confidence into the staff also the fact that the hospital is willing to make the place look more welcoming than just a cold sterile hospital.

    I was surprised that this video didn't really mention vitamin D. Its the only supplement I know that most doctors agree is beneficial. I know there has been a ton of research on it too, as most people (especially those in Northern climates) are deficient in it. And most scientists/doctors agree that the supplement is preferable to getting it from the sun due to the risk of cancer and skin damage.

    Yeah... That whole calorie thing is dumb. We don't ignite food in our stomach or anywhere else in our body, like a calorimeter does. It also assumes a calorie is a calorie. Which is also stupid. Try low fat vs high fat low carb diets. See what happens.

    St. John's Wort is also contra-indicated prior to surgery requiring general anesthesia, at least that was my experience a few years ago. Be sure to tell your surgeon you are taking it, you may need to stop for a couple of weeks prior to surgery. I always tell my doctor what supplements I'm taking, just to be sure I'm not working against other medication I'm taking.

    A) Why do we need a "study" to prove what we already know?     The advertisements on this one were pretty over the top. Really can't imagine how this model works or will continue to work in due time. I skip most advertising unless I actively want to support a channel and an advertiser. Most ads fall far from the mark and are just wasting my time and their money but I've avoided directly feeding the algorithm useful information when it requests it. Don't take free deals or short term access to premium features. I give them nothing because my potential addiction to spending on anything could be ruinous if I ever gave in to buying a thing or paying for a service. Maybe that's not the case for many viewers, but then there is considering the millions who block ads. So given that I'm distrustful of advertisers actual interests and not the welfare of the buyers I hold my ground. Given enough people like me, or those who adblock along with a mix of people who can no longer afford services or products at cost or on credit then I ask, out loud, how does this service economy that has been built up on the internet look to last unless we're all hopelessly addicted to buying as well as consuming media with both hands full?
